Baby Steps

For puppies 8 weeks - 4 months.

This class is for your baby puppies to help you start on the right foot! This is a foundational class to help you troubleshoot the life skills you will need to have a happy and harmonious life with your new best friend! 

In this class we will work on environmental exposure, cooperative care, crate training, recall, engagement & communication between you and your puppy to build the skills needed to create a great relationship and a confident dog.

This class meets once a week for 4 weeks.


Puppy

kindergarten

For puppies 4 - 6 months old or who have completed Baby Steps (toy breeds of all ages are welcome!)

In these classes we introduce a range of behaviors including wait, stay, sit, down, walking on a loose leash, “come,” jumping up, food manners and more! We also devote time to specific puppy behaviors - such as crate training, potty training, socialization, and puppy handling.

This class meet once a week for 6 weeks.

The first class is an orientation without the puppy.


Focus &

foundations

For all dogs over 6 months of age (or have completed Puppy Kindergarten/its equivalent).

This class is a prerequisite to Beginner Obedience!

Does your dog have a difficult time focusing or listening to you in new or distracting environments?

This is a relationship building course to help you and your dog work through the realities of life, with all its distractions. You will learn how to help your dog focus on you in new environments, how to build confidence in unfamiliar settings, and how to set your dog up for success in new situations. This class focuses on the foundations before obedience to help you strengthen your relationship with your dog and help your dog stay engaged with you everywhere; not just at home.

This class meets once a week for 4 weeks. Class starts outside every week working on getting out of our cars and into the building with attention, come prepared for all weather!


Beginner

Obedience

For dogs who have completed Focus & Foundations

In this class we review the skills you and your pup learned from Focus & Foundations, then build on loose leash walking, sit & down stay, jumping, recall, and life skills behaviors such as passing by people and other dogs. We will proof skills with distractions to build strong life skills.

Our classes meet once a week for 6 weeks.


c.g.c.

Students will learn to work on the skills needed to pass the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test.  A test will be offered shortly after the class ends. Dogs need to have some basic understanding of basic obedience, sit, down, and loose leash walking. 

Focus & Foundations & Beginner Obedience are recommended prerequisites but are not required.


Vaccine Requirements

To attend daycare, classes or private lessons, your dog is required to be current on their veterinarian given* Rabies, Distemper-Parvo, and Bordetella* vaccines. Puppies are not required to have the Rabies vaccine until they are 6 months old. We do not require, but do recommend speaking to your veterinarian about the Canine Influenza vaccine.

*All vaccines are required to be given and/or recorded by a certified veterinarian. Home or breeder administered vaccines cannot be accepted.

*Speak to your vet about the Bordetella vaccine to ensure it has been given. The Bordetella vaccine is not one of the core vaccines given to all dogs. This vaccine is given to dogs in close contact and is regularly required by all daycares and training facilities. Click below to learn more about the Bordetella Vaccine and Kennel Cough.
